• In Legato Sapient there are two user groups that can set time filters: the Dashboard Creators that create the dashboards and the end users that work with the dashboard. The administrators can set time filters within the boardlets that are fixed and cannot be changed by the end user. For example, this can be two times the same boardlet, one showing the current quantities and the other showing the quantities from last week. So improvements or degradations can be recognized quickly. The user must be able to recognize which time filter is set in the boardlets. The user cannot change it, the representation must be clear.
• The user is interested in simple, easy to use time filters, complex queries are rather rare and should be hidden (for example: full functionality only after clicking on a button "Extended Time Filter"). 
• In most cases the user wants to jump between production days or shifts.
• The user likes the possibility to define a time range by dragging with the mouse.
• The customer wants to see immediately where he is (spatially and temporally). The current representation in Sapient is not sufficiently clear. 
• There are time filters in South Africa that would not be allowed in Germany. This is the case if you can set a time filter to a certain production group. For example, the query could be: "How did Team Blue perform? Show me the output of the shifts in this production group."
• The feature "Time Travel", where you set all boardlets relative to a freely definable absolute time value, is not needed, too complicated.
• In general, complexity should be kept away from the customer. 

Customer ZF

1. Do the customers want to be able to set times at boardlet level? 
   Answer: In principle, the feature already makes sense. I am not aware that it is used anywhere at ZF. The big problem here is always that you can't tell from the boardlet which time has just been selected. 
2. Should it be possible to create groups of boardlets that use the same time filter while the remaining boardlets follow the global time, for example?
   Answer: I don't think this is urgently necessary. Makes the system more complicated without much added value.
3. Or do the customers only need the possibility to set a global time filter and only the distinction between relative and absolute time filter?
   Answer: This is what is currently being used.
