Create a new process diagram (step by step)
Please note: You might need an administrator for the tasks described here.
A process diagram is saved in an element called process group. The process group is assigned to a dashboard containing the process diagram. The dashboard can be assigned to a menu entry like the start page. However, this is not required. The dashboard can also be linked to an element like a process button.
Please note: it's possible to link a process group to more than one dashboard. If this process group is changed to the needs of one dashboard, these changes are also done for the other dashboards. In this case, it's recommended to create a new empty process group and start a new process diagram on the dashboard that needs to be adapted by adding processes to form a process diagram as described here.
New process diagrams can be needed for
- existing start page that needs to be updated
- new subprocesses
- new startpage with a new process diagram
Update an existing start page process diagram
When a consisting start page needs a new process diagram, this can be done with a new process group assigned to the start page dashboard.
Create a new process group (or order it by someone who can create it)
Assign the new empty process group to the corresponding boardlet of the start page dashboard
Go to the start page
Edit the start page process diagram by adding processes to form a process diagram as described here.
Create a new dashboard as alternative for the actual start page or for a subprocess
Create a new dashboard in the administration section
Add the boardlet for process diagrams
It is possible to add other boardlets to the dashboard additionally to the process diagram
Assign a new process group to the process diagram boardlet
Optionally: Create a new menu entry
A menu entry offers an additional way to access the dashboard by the menu. Without the menu entry, the dashboard can only be accessed by being linked to an element, e.g. process button.
